I'm glad that I had him try them on first because the fit was terrible! Last time I bought him a pair of Columbia winter boots he complained that they were too tight and I had to return them. So when I saw that these sold in a size ''Wide'' I was hopeful that these would fit well. They did not! They were way too tight on his feet despite being a supposed wide fit. I wear the same size shoes as him length wise so I tried them on as well and I have pretty thin feet and even on my feet these felt very tight even after loosening the laces significantly. I also ordered the low top version of these in a different color so he could choose the ones he liked more and those were also a wide fit shoe. Those ones actually felt like a wide fit so maybe these ones were just mislabeled. There's nothing on the shoe label that says wide fit on either shoe, it only says it on the box so it's possible that these were regular fit shoes that were put in the wrong box.
