My cats were a bit upset because there was no water circulation! The new pump looks slightly different than the old one - the water flow regulator is different. The size and fit of the pump are exactly the same. The cord is better quality than the old one. Length is the same, 6 ft. I reassembled the fountain, and it works perfectly, very quiet. Water flow is the same as with the old pump. I am happy with my purchase. Will post an update if any issues. The previous ones had a very stiff cord which needs to wrap around the pump to fit through the opening in the pump housing piece. Both failed relatively quickly and I was annoyed I had to buy a third one. This one was different and so far it's working and I like the way it's designed. The cord is thinner and much more flexible so it's not such a fight to get it positioned correctly.
