Luna Bean Hand Casting Kit - Couples, Wedding, Hand Mold

The kit was very easy to use, instructions were easy to find and easy to follow. I appreciated it came with a QR code and video step by step. It was not messy at all. Perfect size to fit our hands in with comfort. After waiting the correct amount of time it came out perfect with the detail being incredible and the hands being sturdy and will last forever.

It was great; easy to follow instructions and done in one evening. The resulting cast is extremely detailed and pretty amazing. We will be doing additional ones with other family members.

Super easy to create. However the instructions were a wee bit confusing. Between YouTube reviews, official Luna Bean tutorials, and the written instructions included in the casting set, the instructions were not consistent and vague. Also, our alginate did not respond as expected. It was bright pink for way longer than directed. We almost gave up waiting and commenced sticking our hands in, but eventually the mixture started fading which indicates it’s ready for your hands to be inserted. Be careful because you can’t wait too long. Once it’s fading it will fad from oink to white relatively quickly. Once the pink color fades away it’s too late. So timing is very important. I highly recommend you practice your pose in bucket before your our in water and powder mix. It’s a long time to stand there if you’re uncomfortable. Overall, it was mostly easy and enjoyable. The casting takes about 10 minutes of mixing and posing. Let dry about 3 hours. And voila! You have a beautiful keepsake. I would recommend for couples. I am not sure how children and babies can pose long enough without distraction or extraneous movements. Great value for our wedding anniversary gift. The bucket was big enough for two adults both 200+ pounds. The kit contains most things you need but I recommend a disposable small bucket, 2 disposable whisks, a tarp or barrier cloth for work surface, timer or cellphone within reach, drop of oil to apply beforehand to hands, masks and ventilation near an open window for the powder mixture when stirring, 5 cup measuring cup, gallon distilled water, stool or chair for shorter people to kneel on to be able to pose comfortably

My son got this for him and his girlfriend's 1 year anniversary. It turned out so cute. They are both 16 years old. You do have to stand still for 6 minutes with your hands together for the mold to set and then wait a few hours before you can work on it, then carve around it to get it to look perfect, but it was a fun activity for them to do. They kept talking about what a great gift it was and how we should get one and I think it is a great idea because they can look back and see what their hands looked like at this age compared to so many years down the road. It's so crazy how you can see every crease in their hands every little dimple in their fingers. It literally gets every piece of your hand in there. It looks like it's going to be pink at first, but it comes out white in the end. It also seems like it is going to be hard to come out of the bucket, but we turned it upside down and it came right out. It also stands on a base when it is finished, so I think that was really cool and they were able to carve their initials on the base and the year that they did it. So they were kind of nervous when they were trying to get it out after it had set for a few hours, but just turn it upside down and that helps a lot. You also need to find some place to set it because it takes a while to dry. We have had it setting on the counter for 2 days and it is completely dry now.

Such a fun and meaningful experience! The instructions were easy to follow, and the final hand cast came out beautiful with so many little details. This kit makes a perfect gift for couples, anniversaries, or special memories. Everything you need is included, and the quality is amazing. Definitely recommend for a cute and memorable activity together!

Not enough mixture for the depth of the bucket, it then dried within 15 seconds and we didn’t manage to get a single cast. Ended up paying £50+ to bin the entire bucket..

When my chihuahua was diagnosed with inoperable cancer, I decided to make ink paw prints. While researching the ink paw prints, I saw a video online of someone making a sculpture of her dog's paw using Luna Bean. I decided to give it a try. I read the directions and made notes of what to do and not do from videos online. Since the bucket is quite deep, I put my chihuahua on a box and raised the bucket a little with books. My neighbour fed my dog peanut butter and he was amazingly good. It took 7 minutes to set before taking my hand and his paw out. He did have some of the mold stuck to his fur as I didn't put enough oil on his leg and paw. It takes several days for the sculpture to dry, (after peeling the rubbery mold) but be patient. The sculpture is absolutely magnificent! There's so much detail. You can see my fingerprints and his paw prints so clearly as well as every wrinkle and mark on my hands and the fur on his paw. I'm so in love with it. It sits on my mantle and I look at it every day. (My precious chihuahua passed 5 months afterward.). I couldn't be happier with this product. It's absolutely brilliant!
