Product Description The enjoyment of perfectly shaped, homemade bagels is now very fast with these new bagel moulds. This is how it works: prepare dough for six bagels, form balls, use the tip of the baking mould to pierce a hole in the balls, gently press the dough down into the mould and then go. The typical hole in the middle of the bagel is retained by the conical shape. Dip the individual moulds with the dough briefly in boiling water - thanks to the handy tip of the mould, this is also very easy. The micro-perforation allows the excess water to drain and ensures optimal air and heat circulation during subsequent baking in the oven. The bagels become particularly crispy. Review: As someone who is wheat free, i have been baking my own breads for years. There are some baked goods however that I do miss and bagels is one of them. This item was easy to use and helped me make professional looking bagels. Follow the instructions to make perfect bagels. The only adjustment I made as other reviews suggested, was to take the bagels off the moulds before they were fully baked, this allows for a more even looking bake. Time according to your oven temp, experiment!
Review: Very deserving of a five star review. We have found these silicone bagel molds to be of very high quality. The design is absolutely genius. The silicone stays cool to the touch, making it easy and safe to hold the bagels in simmering water prior to topping and then baking them right on the molds. Water drains off quickly through the bottom perforations that also enable even browning when they bake. I've had no problems washing mine in the top rack of the dishwasher. A small bonus is that they make me smile whenever I use them because they look like witches' hats. 🙂 My husband and I look forward to getting many years of happy use from these sturdy but flexible forms. We've been having a lot of fun making all kinds of bagels together, some of which have been what you might call "creative." 😁 (The photo is of a mixed batch of seeded and cinnamon baking in our new Breville Smart Oven Air.)

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Just wondering if these are BPA free?**
A: As clearly noted all throughout the product description, these are made of silicone. Silicone is obviously NOT plastic, therefore, of course they are BPA free!

**Q: I have a bagel recipe, that uses self rising flour.  Would this still work?**
A: They work great as a mold, so your bagels have a great shape. I had trouble getting my bagels off the mold when using them during the boil. I did a 14-18 retard in the refrigerator so they didn't release always as I wanted. I now use spray oil on them and remove the dough from them as soon as they come out of the refrigerator. It adds a step in the boil process, but my bagels have better shape now and I can keep track of the proofing better.

**Q: Can this be used with ketogenic dough recipe?**
A: As an avid baker, you can use the Lekue Bagel Maker( actually a shaper, not a maker ) to form your bagels.  The ketogenic dough magh not have the same chewiness, but the shape is the main focus.  Good luck.

**Q: I don't have the instruction manual (got these as a hand-me-down gift). Is the max oven temp 395 or 498F? I've seen both mentioned here.**
A: 395 burns my bagels. I bake at 375 for 20-25 minutes.

Mi trovo molto bene con questi stampi da bagel, seguendo la ricetta contenuta nella scatola mi sono sempre venuti benissimo. Ora li faccio tutti i sabati usando una farina manitoba ai cereali oppure una farina integrale e ho sempre ottenuto una resa perfetta. Un po' costosi ma se vi piacciono i bagels vale la pena.
