I don't know why but this brush gets through it SO easily. It takes about a quarter of the time to get through my hair and it doesn't pull like other brushes. I've had mine since 2002! Thanks.** A: I saw my hairdresser use this brush on many different types of hair, and she’s really good, so I would think it wouldn’t harm any type of hair. I clean it once a week with warm water and a shot of Dawn or Palmolive..people also use baby shampoo. I thought it was time to replace it, and was so pleased to see that it hadn't changed at all. I remember I put off buying it for ages originally due to the price, however I had my money's worth as it lasted twenty years. It was funny seeing how the wood had faded. He's to another twenty with this one. I use it to dry my hair and well as the usual brushing everyday. I have fine hair that goes frizzy, this is the best brush for me.
