A traveling circus kidnaps a beautiful mermaid, thinking she will bring them fame and fortune. Sporting seven points of articulation doesn't allow her to outrun anyone, but does enable her to pose nicely on the included base. Clean detailing and a defined paint job make the plastic rope and planks look realistic. This is a really beautiful figure, everything from the scales to the eyes are detailed to match almost perfectly with the character in the movie. The Queen has a regal head crest, a sinewy, almost snake-like body and a face reminiscent of some of the more bizarre of the deep-water fishes. Her arms are fairly poseable, but her hands/claws aren't articulated, not that it really matters as this is more for display than play. She has two smaller, possibly underdeveloped fins/appendages on her sides which, while purely decorative, are pretty cool looking. The end of her tail, covered in long spines, certainly looks deadly, and her webbed hands possess claws for shredding flesh. She has a row of spines running down her back as well. The coloring evokes the sea and is superbly done. She has little articulation, an ability to mover her head, arms and 'hips', but it was made for display, not playing.The DVD is nice, with some good pictures and a short interview with both Mr. Winston and the artist/sculptor for the project.The Base is incredible, a wooden barrel, a shipping crate and lengths of rope/netting on a 'wooden' floor, that of the vessel she was held upon. The accessories, weren't particularly interesting, I liked the tackle (for rope), but the knife is something you could easily lose and neither have a place to secure them. A severed human head was among the accessories, but I found it disgusting and didn't even remove it from the packaging..Speaking of the package, that, besides the severed head, is my only complaint. It was VERY difficult to get in to, even more so than the others I've bought. The base was placed in the packaging in such a way that it had to be removed first before you could remove the Queen, and just getting past the plastic was hard, even with a knife. I literally had to tear away the plastic covering the DVD with my hands because I couldn't get it out with the knife without scratching it. This did not help the card backing at all.One note, this figure has a visible cloaca, so children might ask you what that is and what it's for.Overall, this is a beautiful, highly detailed figure that is well worth the money if you like non-Disney mermaids, monsters or Stan Winston's creations. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I love the queen mermaid *by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on November 4, 2015* I love the queen mermaid !!!!!
