The POOL ALARM is an electronic monitoring system that automatically sounds an alarm when children or pets fall into your unsupervised pool It's portable self-contained and light weight The unit is simple to operate Entry into the pool will be detected by the Pool Alarm's electronic sensor triggering a loud pulsating alarm at the unit and inside your house from the remote receiver The Pool Alarm installation is very easy It sits on the pool deck as shown in the picture After you install the Pool Alarm it can't be deactivated it is always in the alarm ready mode until you put it in Sleep Mode If someone who does not know how to put the Pool Alarm in sleep mode attempts to remove the alarm it will sound an alarm The Pool Alarm comes with a remote receiver which can be mounted in your home up to 200 feet from the main unit It comes with a 12 volt power supply The Pool Alarm uses one 9-volt battery (not included) which should last approximately one year There is an audible low battery indicator which will sound at the poolside alarm and the remote receiver Review: First one lasted 5 years - I bought this product 5 years ago and it worked well until this spring. It is mounted to the below ground pool apron with 2 screws. I only put it out when the grand kids came about one weekend a month and two weeks a summer. On the rare occasion one went in before we "opened the pool" it went off with a loud unpleasant noise in and out of the house. A false alarm would occur when the pump started in the morning and air got pushed out. This was like a daily system test unless we remembered to turn the alarm off before the pump started. We got a new one this month. It works well. Review: Not perfect, but it's the best I've found. - It's not perfect, but it works very well. I have had it installed for about 2 months now and it has never falsed, not once. And we have had some pretty serious storms in that time frame. It has gone off every single time we forgot to disarm it, including one time when my wife threw in her pool float in preparation for a swim. It weighs maybe 10 or 12 pounds at the most. There are a few things I don't like though. I really wish the keypad had a battery that would last for an hour or so in the event of a power outage. I also wish there was a way to connect it to the house alarm for additional annunciation or in case a neighbor kid fell in while we were away.

Product cheap
Product was cheap, not the best quality, I ended up returning it and there was no free return shipping and they charge a restocking fee, so it cost me over $60.00 to send it back.

Great product! Great peace of mind!
We almost lost our two year old this spring. He slipped out of the window and fell in the pool. Thankfully he is alright, but this product is great peace of mind. We are extremely happy...it is loud!

We love how it resets when the water is calm
We have had this alarm for 2 1/2 years and it has given us peace of mind with our 5 children, all but one who are strong swimmers. We love how it resets when the water is calm, so if the kids aren't splashing around in the water and just relaxing, it will reset. However, I like knowing that I don't have to rely on me remembering every time. If a toy gets left in the water and bumps into it during the night it can go off...has happened a couple of times and I am sure the neighbors loved that. We have used and abused this and would buy again.

Useless
Horrible unit. Kept going off at all times of day and night with little or no wind. Nothing like running outside in your underwear in the middle of the night to turn it off because the remote doesnt work well. I would not by this.

Alarm works great.
Alarm works great. Needs to be tested to find best location away from jet returns which i found allow it to rearm faster. Passed all testing with water jugs and have had alarm go off when we forgot to disarm. It is not meant to alarm if someone very gradually enters the pool as instructions state. I am pleased with product and when i spoke with company about product, they were helpful.
