what is the snap for??

Would this leash support a 56 pound dog?

I walk dogs part-time and largest dog I've used this leash on was ~110 lbs. I use the leash around my hips/waist when I walk if that helps.

What's the maximum waist circumference?

Thank you for your question! The Quantum leash is very adjustable and can be used for waists of all sizes. The total length of the leash is 84" (7 feet - when the handle is not in use), so this length can be adjusted to any waist size and whatever length is left will be the length of leash available for your dog. So for example, if a waist is 48", the length left for walking the dog will be 36" (3 feet).
