Psychology doesn't have to be complicated. Based on CBT, mindfulness and positive psychology, The Mood Cards , comprising 42 cards and an instructional booklet, offer a fun and easy-to-use interactive card deck to make sense of your moods and feelings. With the current COVID-19 mental health pandemic The Mood Cards are an invaluable tool to process emotions and move forward – a much-needed mental health resource! Each card includes guided questions for exploration based on cognitive behavioural therapy plus affirmations for positive thinking. The cards encourage conversations to help manage emotions by offering a simple framework approach which makes them popular with parents, teachers and professionals as well as those wishing to use the cards for their own positive mental health and wellbeing. The cards give space for deep listening and empathic response which is so vital at this time of disconnection. Using the cards will help to unlock worries and anxiety, build better relationships, increase confidence and self-esteem and expand emotional intelligence. The cards are being used in the following settings: • Adults and teenagers • Parents and families • Counsellors, coaches and psychologists • Meditation and mindfulness groups • Primary and secondary schools, colleges and universities • SEN settings • Social care settings: probation services, children's services, adoption services • Mental health settings, such as anxiety groups, PTSD awareness, brain injury units, addiction services, carers groups, bereavement support. Please see the many reviews below to find out more about who is using them, where and how. Review: Great for self-care and counselling - I work as a counsellor and have already found several clients have made use of these, whether it is just using the questions for self-exploration and helping them to describe how they feel or writing the questions (and the answers) and the affirmations to transfer to index cards and carry around and read out through the day. As the cards come with a well written foldout instruction card and, a huge array of moods, from hate to acceptance, stressed to confidant, disappointed to proud, they cover a huge array of different moods and feelings. The design is quite simple with a face and couple of words on a colour which suits the mood and I think the packaging is right and would be suitable for working with clients aged from 8 to 80. It wouldn't just be a professional setting, but I guess they would be good for creating a dialogue between parents and children. The cards are extremely well designed, very sturdy and well packaged so they will last me a long time. I've recommended them to colleagues and would encourage any counsellor or someone who works in the mental health field to invest in a pack for working with someone who either doesn't know what to say or when you seem to get 'stuck' and want something quick and easy to get the conversation flowing. I've looked at them at home and can see myself using the affirmations for my self-care. I've looked at a pack of the Enhanced Mood Cards and they look interesting, but I am more than happy to stick with these for now because they are very user-friendly, both for the practitioner and client, or just for someone who wants to have something to add to their own 'mindfulness toolkit'. Review: Valuable resource - A great resource for therapists. I've used it with teenagers and it's proven very valuable in getting them to open up.

Good to use with talking therapies in a Hospice and for yourself.
I work in a Hospice and use the mood cards in Carers group and on a 1 to 1 basis with patients. People seem to be drawn to the simplistic faces and they have been used to facilitate conversations about feelings and more to the point they enable people to work with their feelings and have control over them. I am a social worker and these cards valuable suggestions are like having a psychotherapist and holistic counsellor with you in the room. The other great thing is they are easy to photocopy double sided so patients can take a copy of the card that represents their feeling home with them . Patients report that they really benefit from this as they gave a particular emotion that they have chosen to work with inbetween sessions. I have also used them myself out of interest and they capture a quick and effective way of working with your emotions that cut to the chase without reading loads of books!

themoodcards help make sense of your moods and emotions
Andrea's themoodcards are wonderful. The font is large enough so those with not the best eyesight can easily read the printed guidance on both sides of the cards. The instruction booklet explains how to use the cards for beneficial results. I have a friend whose brother and his wife were having problems. My friend thought of the two of them and selected two cards. She was impressed that the cards she selected for them explained what they were going through and what she had heard both of them saying. She was able to discuss things she had read on their cards with them and try to help. The cards are attractive and offer some really excellent questions and thoughts for self-help with your own moods. The differences between "mood" and "emotion" are also defined. There are 42 different mood cards. themoodcards shipped from the UK to far West Texas in the U.S. in a matter of days. They arrived much quicker than I thought they would. The product arrived in very good condition. I would highly recommend Ms. Harrn's themoodcards.

Great for helping son process challenging feelings
School teacher recommended these for 8-year-old son who sometimes struggles with processing emotions and big feelings. They have really started to help with meltdowns as he finds just the process of laying them out quite therapeutic in itself (suspect he is on ASD spectrum and awaiting assessment). But then eliminating certain cards to eventually narrow down and identify how he is feeling is great. He often struggles to express exactly what he’s feeling but this is a wonderful process to help us all understand where he is and how we can support him. The questions and affirmations on the cards are also a nice touch and he thoughtfully works through these as well. Highly recommend to other parents who may have kids who struggle with big feelings.

Hilfreiche Karten

Great for therapy sessions with noth children and young teens
My wife uses the mood cards whilst in therapy sessions with both children and young teens. She commented that there were a large variety of "feelings" portrayed on the cards, which gave a greater choice to the client to represent how they were feeling at the time. Each card has questions written on them that you can use to prompt the client. They are well made and will last a long time. Easy to use.
