A fantastic EDC
What's more classic for EDC than Victorinox's red handle folders? they range from a tine single blade to a pocketful bulky multitools you can basically do anything with. This one is svelte, humble single blade and screwdriver-bottle opener model. Thin enough to fit anywhere, sturdy and usable for anything - from peeling an apple to treating wounds and preparing meet for an impromptu barbecue. Quality is top notch. the blade keeps edge even when heavily used and slight abused, and the fit and finish are impeccable.

Terrific, minimal pocket knife for anybody
I own over 30 swiss army knives from single layer, up to 4 layers. This one has the fewest tools, but honestly is probably my personal favorite due to its small size, low weight, and frankly sufficient tools for my needs on most days. Tip: Everybody seems to sharpen pocket knives at extremely low, "fillet" angles. I don't like thin edges on swiss army knives -- the blades are thin enough already, and sharpening at extremely acute angles is unnecessary, and results in too much edge rolling for my needs anyway. The factor edge seems to be right at 20 degrees per side. I like to resharpen at 25 degrees per side -- works great and makes the edge tougher for the uses my pocket knives see.

All the knife I need
I have 2 other Swiss Army Knives that I used to carry everywhere and really like how well they are made and how they stay sharp through much use. What I don’t like about my other SAKs is that they are pretty big and heavy. They also have a number of tools on them that I have never used and likely never will. When I really thought about what I use a pocket knife for, it was virtually always just to cut something. The Bantam SAK is inexpensive, simple, thin and light, and stays sharp for a long time, which is all that I really need from a pocket knife.

A great little knife to keep in your pocket
I have carried this knife in my pocket for years. I like it so much I bought one as a gift for someone. It has typical Victorinox quality - holds an edge well, and is extremely useful since it is perfectly sized to be light and out of the way in my pocket, but not too small. I use both the tweezers and the toothpick regularly, as well as the blade. I don't have much use for the bottle opener, but it's nice to have just in case.

Love my Bantam
I wanted to get an EDC knife that didn't make my coworkers nervous. You know that look you get when you open a lock-blade in an office setting, well, I didn't want that anymore. I am becoming self conscious of pocket knife etiquette. This little guy is the perfect office knife. It's bigger than the standard SAK but not at all intimidating. Very light and thin but still is setup with eight tools. I put a hanging clip on it's ring and it now resides in my breast pocket at work every day. I can't remember the last time I went a day without using it. Granted, I'm not talking about building a shelter with it or cutting and splitting a cord of wood with it. I'm talking about everyday office/home tasks. Opening packages, opening a beer, getting that damn piece of peanut from between your teeth, tightening that loose latch screw you keep noticing but never grab a screwdriver to fix. The list goes on. I just love the fact that it's right there whenever I need it. And at this price, it's a no-brainer. WARNING- This is a gateway knife! If this ends up being your first Swiss Army Knife, it will NOT be your last!!

I will probably always own a bantam or have one at arms reach
It's hard to find fault with the Bantam as an EDC knife. Sure, it's not the most exotic steel or has some silky deployment...it's a basic, no nonsense very handy pocket knife that puts a smile on everyone's face that sees it. I never have to worry about people's reaction to the Bantam...if anything, they are drawn to it's diminutive but familiar Swiss Army knife appearance and memories of the one they or a family member had. On the downside, it feels like an inexpensive knife; but hey, that's exactly what it is. The multi-tool/cap lifter is of dubious utility. It'll turn a screw in a pinch but it's not an adequate replacement for a screw driver (or even SAK w/ those functions). The inox steel won't hold an edge for long with the frequent use it will see...but it's easily sharpened back to a keen edge. The blade length, thickness and shape are perfectly suited for the every day tasks of life like slicing food &opening boxes. It's also so light that it never feels bulky in your pocket. It's also the perfect knife to give to the people you come across in life who have never owned or thought about a pocket knife....think of it as the bic lighter of EDC knives. I've gone through several Bantams and always wind up with a replacement in short order.

Absolutely great
This might be the best knife for daily use there is. I hate the popularity of discussion about "EDC" but ya know what? This has everything you need to "EDC." Sharp blade out the box? Check. Slotted screwdriver so you dont have to go to the tool box? Check. Had broccoli for lunch and need to get some out of your teeth? It has a tool for that, too. Oh! Work day is done and you wanna have a cold one? Well lookie here, it's got a bottle opener as well. Super slim, weighs nothing, and has what you actually need for "every day" all while bearing the Victorinox/Swiss Army Knife pedigree. It's 16 bucks. Buy it.
