What does the keychain say?

It doesn't say anything. Its eyes light up and makes a non verbal sound. Closest I can equate it to, is a sound effect, of a knife being drawn. Like a "shink" or something like that.

What sound is this supposed to make? mine has some awful ear piercing kaching noise. doesn't sound even remotely star wars like

Yeah I wish it was a better noise, like a breading noise

can You suggest a gift for a 12 year old girl?

Yes. It´s a simple gift. For a girl may be it could be better an R2D2.

Does this come with batteries

I guess it does because it works soon I opened
