Rome's Pie Iron Storage Bag, 30-Inch x 10-Inch

I purchased this canvas storage bag to store our camp pie makers and our marshmellow/hotdog sticks. It's perfect. Heavy duty canvas, with a nice zipper. Fits the pie makers and the stainless steel sticks easily without any problem. Wish I had purchased one of these a long time ago. It helps keep the sticks and pie makers clean and easy to wrangle when you want to use them. Having said all of that, I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful.

This is a must have for storing multiple pie irons, or just one pie iron. This is a great way to protect the cast iron, and store your pie irons. We have three pie irons. We have a round, single square, and a double pie iron. All three of them fit in the bag. Note: If storing more than one pie iron in the bag, we recommend storing them with the cast iron at opposite ends to balance the bag out. If you put two or three pie irons in the same direction, it will get top heavy so to speak. Makes the bag easier to carry. Update: 5/18 Over two years later and bag has held up and still works great. Definitely recommend.

We bought both the square and rectangle pie irons shown in the photo and this carry bag is worth ever penny! Not only does not make for great storage and makes carrying and keeping them together during transit easy, but putting the pie irons in the fire means that even after a good cleaning, you're still going to find some black or oil residue rubbing off here and there. This bag keeps the mess from getting all over the car, blankets, clothes- anything they are packed next to. Works great and seems well made. =)

I love pie irons. As I type this I have five square irons, two round irons, two double irons, and a waffle iron. I originally found one of these bags at a big box sporting goods store. It held my original four irons just fine. With four square irons you can lay them flat in the bag, with two irons on each end, handles pointing toward the middle. Unfortunately there are no internal loops or way to secure the handles in place, so some shifting can occur when carrying the bag loaded this way. With the original bag, I was able to add two more round irons, but the bag was very full at that point. Also, with six irons you are forced to layer them on top of each other, so you have more metal on metal contact. With only round irons, you might be able to get more than six in the bag, but I doubt you'd get too many more in there. When I added the two double irons, I knew it was time to buy a second bag so I ordered from Amazon and now have enough room for my collection. If I add more pieces, I'm sure I'll buy more because these are very sturdy bags and are just the right size. I'm only detracting one star because I think I'd prefer if there were some internal pockets or loops or something to try to secure the irons in place so there is less banging around. Other than that, this product works as you'd expect and I'd recommend it to any pie iron enthusiast.

I wanted something to keep my irons in so soot wasn't getting everywhere in my camper when I store them. This has been perfect, holds 2 double irons, and enough extra room to keep a couple other grilling tools.

A couple years ago we started camping again. I relaized our of our cooking items had disappeared in a cross country move. I was replenishing my stuff on line and saw this bag. It is great for carrying our pie irons and skewers. Also makes it easy to store. Everything is in one place and I don't have to worry when it is time to go camping. I just grab the bag and go.

Ghost stories, guitars and Mountain pies - who doesn't love a good campfire. Rome is the original and no one does it better. We not only use our storage bag for the Pie Irons but it also carries my hatchet, fire poker, and Rome hot dog forks! Sturdy and reliable - this is a great addition to the outdoorman's collection.
