Cornhusker Kitchen Premium Rendered Beef Tallow Tub, 1.5lb

This tallow is whiter and smells better than a lot of other tallows I tried. A very good size at a very fair price. I use it for frying because it doesn't burn like many oils do and gives a nice flavor to the food. Yes it's healthy but it also enhances the food flavors and doesn't taste greasy. I also have used it on my skin making it more versatile than most other cooking oils. No oil can out perform beef tallow and I'm a big fan and user of coconut oil too, but just for conditioning my skin and hair and oil pulling through my teeth. I find that beef tallow does better under high heat so that is why it is my go to for healthy cooking that doesn't go rancid no matter how hot my food gets in my cast iron pan.

For cooking in the past I have used Fatworks. It’s very meaty and flavorful. However, it’s awful for body products. For those I would typically use Epic brand, but while it’s very mild and appropriate for body products, I always hated the taste…flavorless and almost plastic-y. This tallow is a nice mild flavor, and I am currently using it for both purposes and am happy. Also, it’s very soft, you can spoon it out easily. Both competitors are hard as rocks and have to be microwaved to get them out of the jar. I spoke to the manufacturer by phone and he confirmed it’s both grass fed and grass finished, which is important to me. The only con would be I have a hard time opening the canisters, but I have some damaged fingers from RA. Maybe that wouldn’t be an issue for a person with normal functioning hands. I have to have my husband open them, and since he’s not around generally when I’m cooking, I keep them in large ziploc bags with the lid off. Overall, I’m thrilled to find this brand of tallow and intend to keep using it going forward. It’s also a good value, when comparing the price per ounce.

Great for cooking

Do not get this ! When I picked up the package from outside I was confused thinking did I buy feathers?? Got in the house opened the box and took out the tub . 1) no seal on the outside , I said okayyy??? Maybe it’s a plastic seal on the inside. NOPE! 2) not even filled half way there is literally gaps on the side and clearly not filled no wonder it felt so light. 3) texture felt like coconut oil that’s TRYING TO solidify but just won’t. 4)quality a solid 2 it smells used Haven’t even cooked with it yet because it smells used and plastic like

I am using this on my face so far so good but the texture is very gritty if that bothers you stay away. This one also says it needs to be refrigerated which is very annoying since it should be shelf stable

Trying to get away from seed oils. This is a great alternative & so confusing why more stores don’t carry it. I especially like to cook my beef liver in it un breaded, I think it tastes better. Not a fan of liver & onions but this makes the beefy flavor stronger & easier to eat such vitamin rich food.imho

This tallow is fantastic! We love it for cooking, but it is wonderful as well for skincare. Strangers compliment my skin, it has seriously never looked better- super clear, firm, and glowing. Best part though is that it is amazing aftercare for a sunburn! My skin is so nourished and soft, and the way it has helped such horrible sunburns has truly blown me away. I only wish that the containers had tamper-evident safety seals, as they are really required by law on products like this, and when I reached out to the company to ask about it they didn't respond (after an initial response, so I know they are ignoring this question) so that is disappointing. Hopefully they can update their packaging soon, this is the reason for 4 stars and not 5.
