Can it be used by a normal height person standing without slumping?

That's a tough question, because there are a lot of variables at play.Short answer is it's possible not to slump while working when standing at the easel. But you know yourself best. So you should imagine how you work by the factors below.When I measured the easel at its most extended, the height is 74" (6' 2"). But that's the top of the clamp. It takes about four inches to get to the bottom of the top clamp, which is where your canvas would start at 70" (5' 10"). You probably wouldn't do a lot of detailed work at the top edge of the canvas, so much of your work will concentrate a few inches below. Depending on how big your canvas is, the top "margin" from the focus of you work could be, say, six inches, bringing much of your detailed work at the level of about 64" (5' 4").The average American woman is 5' 4", and the average American man is 5' 9 1/2". Your eye level will be a few inches below the top of your head.So if you're an American woman of average height, you could probably stand at the easel and not slump much while working. If you're an American man of average height, you would probably have to look down somewhat. And it depends on if you have a propensity to slump when you look down.
