Very clear, concise instructions, great color pages and images, answers in the back, such a wonderful resource, especially for the price. I DO wish the pages were perforated, that is about the only complaint I have. The past 2 years we have used these, I just take an evening and gather all the Sylvan books we have bought and take a couple hours tearing out the entire book being careful not to rip pages in half as it can be easily done if in a hurry, hole punching it and storing it in a 3 ring binder. That way, all year I do not have to be tearing out X amount of pages per day or week etc. and they are all handy and ready to go. I would pay extra to have them perforated! haha But despite the extra work (which technically isn't all completely necessary but we've found it impossible to use without at least tearing out the pages) I still highly recommend these lesson books.

Great tool for my 4 year old. My son knows some site words and this has been a great tool to assist him in learning to read and enunciate words! A great starting tool in teaching children the concept of reading. And I don't homeschool my son, this is what I do with him as homework.

I purchased this my son who isn’t crazy about writing. At the first page was a hide n seek game that he was really excited to do. That got him engaged. Honestly, if it wasn’t for that he probably would have not wanted to go forward. It’s a bit repetitive on the letter recognition. It would be great to do a letter then a little game activity. Instead of going on to the next letter doing the same thing. For kids who need to be engaged this might not be suitable at least there better options out there for that. None the less we are going to press through that chapter and see what happens. This will not work for any type of struggling readers (such as dyslexia)
