It has a KGB badge attached to the front. Old Soviet style thing. Click on the pics that come with that model and one pic shows the badge.

How can a 12 year old girl make this smaller so it fits her head?

Usually I have an answer. This is a hard one. I think that you can put a felt liner in it just around the inside. I wish I had that problem. Mine is a little snug. Hoped this helped.
