How wide are the handles on this? How deep is the bowl?

The handles are just over 1"; the bowl is approx 3" deep. I agree with the previous answers that this double boiler is small especially when compared to traditional double boilers. However, it fits easily over my 8" wide saucepan and even better over my 6" wide saucepan. It can easily accommodate a stick of butter, several chunks of hard chocolate and it takes up much less space than the traditional double boiler.

Can I put this right on my stove?

I don't think so. In the instructions, it states that it can not touch the hot water and it has to be above the water . Chocolate melts only due to steam. If it can not be placed on water, it definitely can not be put on the stove. If it can be put on the stove why use this? A small sauce can be used ...right? The purpose of this is so that you don't have to buy a double boiler which is two pots, one pot over another + a lid which costs $30! This one can be resting on any standard sauce pan with hot water, this double boiler tool would rest on it (note the hook on the opposite side of the handle) well above the water level.

Would I be able to heat soup or noodles

This is more for melting chocolate and it's quite small.

Can i use this for both chocolate and candles? Or do i need separate ones for each chocolate and candles?

I would think this would work perfectly to melt both chocolate and was for csndles. Just be sure to clean it thoroughly between the two uses.
