I can scroll just fine with mine. If you are set for right-handed use, hold the left button down with your thumb and roll the ball up and down to scroll. If you're set up for left-handed use, you'd use the right button with your left thumb.

They say the lenght and width are 6 w x 7.9 l . their no where near that. why do they measure items by the size of the box? :)

It actually measures 5 W x 5.75 L. I don't know why they gave the dimensions that they gave. It's very ergonomic, cool looking, easy to use, and uses laser technology. It does not operate like a conventional mouse. You do not move the housing you only rotate the ball. It is larger than a conventional mouse with two button operation. I'm very satisfied with mine.
