It is bpa free but it is also poorly made. I've bought two of these know and both leak at the seams. Better off buying ceramic

Fill it up, put in one of the packages, tilt your head sideways over the sink and stick it in the nostril that's on the top side and then switch to the other (assuming you have two nostrils). When the pot is empty, blow your nose to get out any water that still lingering in you sinuses. The real trick is make sure your head is really tilted sideways. The more sideways the better. I found that having my mouth open helps the flow...don't know why but it does. Be ready for a really weird feeling (Kind of like when you get water in your nose when you go swimming) but just go with it ...you'll be surprised how much better you feel moments after you're done.

What kind of plastic? What is the printed recycle number?

It does not say what kind of plastic and does not have a plastic recycle symbol. Rest assured that it is definitely breakable, as my wife dropped it on the floor and it cracked. Go with the Yeti pot. It works just as well and has a much more impact resistant type of plastic.

I have the porcelain version of this and I just use some hot water to clean it.

Stay away from this plastic one!

Stay away from this plastic one!! The spout tip was not molded properly, looked like a split on the end. Irritates the nose quite well. Have called customer support 3 times now, the first 2 I was told replacement on the way. The 3rd time I was told they are totally backlogged due to the problems with this. I doubt I'll ever see the replacement. Glad I got the little ceramic genie lamp looking one. No problems at all using it. Would NOT recommend this particular plastic one.
