Got it home, installed the software in about 3 minutes... Plugged this into my SolarMax II 60 (Hydrogen Alpha Telescope) and started snapping photos and videos of the sun within minutes. Super easy to use. Haven't had a chance yet to try it in my Celestron 8SE yet so I will update this review in the future when I get some clear dark skies without minus freaking 30 temperatures :) I put a video on Vimeo so you can see what I saw within the first 5 minutes of opening the box. Please note that better quality will come with practice and spending more time properly focusing – All I did was just drop the camera into my diagonal, and started recording. Also, note that this was on my balcony in -15 weather (Calgary Alberta) with a heat register blowing in front of my view... Still pretty good for a first use despite the seeing conditions! This camera is SHOCKINGLY good. I had several video cameras in my possession that fit, including older video versions of the Sony ExView HAD chip in B/W and with the IR cut filter removed. Slowly I had reverted to using my Canon T4i for deep sky photography, simply using an 85mm tele F1.4 or my 55-250 telezoom + a 2x converter (at the camera end). The 85mm had good light and I got some lovely shots of the Orion nebula and the Andromeda galaxy ... I had received this camera but did not experiment with it, simply because of fairly low expectations. I thought I had to get a cooled camera to get better results. The other night I actually put the camera on a modest telescope and aimed it at the Moon. I had to go down to 1/5000s shutter to not completely saturate the camera and with an adapter, my 85mm DSLR lens becomes a 250mm (smaller chip) and it has turned out to be much more fun than I would have expected. With a small laptop, this makes for very portable gear that can go in the car without getting sweaty, every time the journey goes outside the light pollution. Clear Skies!
