How do you remove the old switch?

My recliner had to 2- small Phillips head screws top & bottom of switch system holding it in place & connected to motor, Switch wire easily pulls out from motor, has 5 pins inside as pictured on AMAZON SITE

How do I determine if the switch is bad?

If you have a double reclining couch as I do , SWITCH ALL EASILY Separated wire w/ A/C PLUG. from one side to other side of couch, if it works, then the other side probably has faulty switch if NOT , then it could be burnt out motor, switch w/ wire attached that connects to motor $11-12 dollars on AMAZON , replace switch 1st , best value, forget electrician.

How long is the cord?

I didnt measure it but it was long enough to easily reach down to the motor on the back of the recliner. Maybe 3 feet.

This Recliner Switch with 2 Buttons was very easy to install. It is very well made with a strong plastic material. For the installation, all that was needed was to remove the defective switch and substitute it with this one. Fit perfectly onto my recliner which I did myself with no experience. This switch allowed me to do this myself, saving me a lot of money for a furniture technician. Works perfectly reclining my chair and looks great.
