The manual does not say where it is made. Seiko is a Japanese company so its made there or made with there supervision. The wood is beautiful. The picture of the color is accurate **Q: Does it make a ticking sound** A: There is no clicking sound on the clock it is very quiet and you can adjust the chime volume. Also it does not chime between 11pm and 6 am.
