Isnit approved for airline use?** A: Used this on Allegiant Airlines recently. My first adventure with my pup on an airline. It is larger than the published specs of the airline, but it is squishy. To fit best and mostly under the seat, it would have to be laid on its back, top slid in first. However, due to the design of the Allegiant seats and leg space on the A320, there really isn't much "under the seat" space. It's very open with the angle of the seat (legroom+ seat which gave us about 4" of additional leg space.). This allowed me to open the expansion compartment under the seat and have the main part of the backpack carrier sit upright and flush to the back of the seat. A bit cramped for my legs, but wasn't an issue for me or the flight attendants. Your experience may depend on the attendants. My pup = 14 lb mix and stands about 13" at shoulder. I was able to easily open the expansion for him while waiting at the gate, so he could stretch out. When the expansion space is closed, it is easy to carry the bag by the top handle, but I preferred using it as a backpack. Waist and chest straps are nice additions. I "trained" my pup getting in/out of the bag and riding in it in the car for 4 weeks prior to travel; our flights and training trips were <2hrs. Very easy to take him out and put back in which is required for TSA security checks using either of the side openings and the included, interior pet collar/harness clip. Note: I used a different pet carrier by Paws&Pals on my outbound flight on the same airline, same row (7), and type of plane. It's base is about 2" longer, and the carrier is about 5" shorter. It is a shoulder bag. I took it as I was concerned about the larger size of the Petcute bag. The Petcute bag was folded and in my luggage. The Paws&Pals carrier also didn't fit all the way under the seat. So, on my return trip I tried and preferred the Petcute bag as it is much more sturdy and taller, could open the expansion area, and it's a backpack, so better all around for both pup and me. Not too big for a petite framed woman when the arm straps are tightened to their maximum. Suitable for cycling, as long as your balance on the bike is good enough that a cat moving around won't unbalance you (but this goes for all cat carriers). Highly recommend this product, particularly as I got it from Amazon Warehouse for only Β£32.00. My only negative is that the protective film on the acrylic windows is impossible to remove without leaving tiny fragments of plastic trapped to the circular window openings and seams. This is a minor aesthetic issue, so perhaps something that could be improved on.
