I'm looking for an ice crusher for an elderly person. How much strength is required to operate it?

I'm of the opinion that significant strength is required to operate this ice crusher.  You need good right-handed arm strength to turn the handle with a full load of cube ice, and, strong left-handed arm strength to hold the unit down in place on your counter.  In all honesty, this 5-star product is not for a weak individual,  as evidenced by the fact that my spouse is unable to operate it due to limited hand-arm-torso strength.  That's my honest opinion.

Does anyone have experience with any rust in this Innovee ice crusher? Other brands have small screws that inside the blade compartment.

Yes! I am just returning this. There us rust on the rod that holds the blades. I only used it for just over a month.  Ice was great, rust is not. I noticed a little bit a week ago and scrubbed it with a brush. A few days ago, I wiped the tray with a tissue and the water that dripped after use was brown.
