Is the hook aluminum or plastic?

All hooks, from 7 to 12 are made to be lightweight, not just this brand. Aluminium hooks go up to size K (6.5mm). I'm not sure why Clover makes the K this type, but perhaps it's due to the weight of the handle plus the hook. Clover hooks are not just simple plastic like the cheap type of hooks. They don't have seams like either cheap off brands or acrylic hooks. Seams snag yarn so it's never advisable to buy and use cheap off brand hooks. Even most of the off brand aluminium hooks are not smooth and will snag. It's always a good idea to invest in a good high quality set of hooks. Anything less is for beginners who simply need to learn the craft before investing into a set of hooks they will use for actual projects they and be proud to say they made.

If you place all the items in one order, it will ship together.

I believe it's plastic. It feels good in my hand, I'm pleased with it.

This is the second one I’ve purchased When I find something this good, I always buy an extra one for me...just in case. These hooks DO NOT catch your yarn, or split your yarn. You will have smooth strokes and great comfort wheter you hold your hook like a pencil or a knife. I’ve been at it for over 50 years and I have an extensive collection. You will not be disappointed.
