Very smooth coffee.

Used to buy Starbucks but this is much better espresso. Makes a nice crema that lasts. Smooth taste with no bitterness. Very satisfied with the coffee.

What can I say? Illy is the best espresso and buying in bulk makes it much cheaper than getting tins in the shops.

I tried the ground version to see if there is a meaningful difference from the whole bean version. Unfortunately there is. The first one is opening the tin. You have to do it slowly and let the vacuum equalize or you get grounds everywhere. It's nice the lid clearly says this and I totally read that the first time I opened one up and totally didn't make a little mess. The second one is that the grind is very fine. It's an even grind which is nice, but it's really only suitable for expressos. For a press it's out of the question. For a pour over the grind works, but a larger grind would probably work better. The third one is freshness. With the vacuum sealed tin, it does retain it's freshness for a pre-ground but it quickly loses that freshness over a couple days. It lacks that nutty smell of a good medium roast. Overall, the product is superior to lesser brands. But it isn't as good as whole bean and a fresh grind.
