Will this work to wake up 3 boys on a school day?

Depends on how soundly the three boys sleep, I would imagine..🤔

Can it be worn around the neck? How heavy does it feel? Looking for compact, lightweight w/ volume control (not too loud) & worn around the neck.

It's pretty lightweight. It has a strap, but it's too short to wear around the neck. You could probably attach it to a lanyard though. Although, that might make it a little too heavy. I just tried to do it, and the lanyard couldn't hold it.

What is the sound level of the megaphone?

The sound level is 'good' for my purpose in using this megaphone. I communicate to someone in my home who is extremely DEAF and they hear me fine now and I do NOT have to strain my voice to be heard. I also like this particular model because it is a good size for the counter top and very easy to use.
