Manic panic prides itself on being vegan. Their slogan is "we test on celebrities, not animals." **Q: Has anyone tried this turquoise color on dark brown hair? Thanks.** A: The turquoise is the most vibrant of the colors and it lasts the longest by far. You do not need to lighten darker hair but it will only tint over whatever color you have so if you want a bright turquoise result you'll need to lighten. I have ginger hair and I lighten my tips only and ombré the turquoise in. It's pretty easy to do. Just search you tube for bleach ombré tutorials. **Q: Is this permanent dye? How long does the color last, roughly?** A: It depends on your hair type, and how you treat your hair. For me, my colours last until I want to change them (roughly 3-6 months). If you blow dry your hair, or use styling products, or are in the sun frequently, the colour will last a shorter amount of time. If you want to extend the colour, wash in cold water (yeah, I know. eek!), avoid previously mentioned things, and add a little colour to your conditioner. If you need to get the colour out, you can wash in very warm water with a clarifying shampoo, a mixture of dawn soap and baking soda, or use a soap cap. (This involves a little bleach, so only do this if you really need to get it out.) **Q: I'm going for a light pink, what color would work best for dirty blonde? do i have to bleach it?** A: I would go with the cotton candy over this, if you want a light color. I have dirty blonde hair and I have never bleached or lightened it and I get great results from Manic Panic. Somehow, I've managed to dye my daughter's hair for the past 5 years with funky fun colors with absolutely ridiculous success. I really just mash colors together, use my hands (with gloves of course) and it turns out beautifully every time. I bought this "color" in an attempt to get a periwinkle or light lavender and had although it says toner, I had no idea what that meant... So in my fun blending, I managed to basically blast out the dye I was using, and had the very first sad experience where her hair turned out....well...barely dyed. Much sadness ensued. I had no idea what toner was, and after much googling, realize you can add it to bleached hair to whiten it up or take out a bit of the yellow. Which is cool. But I did NOT read the reviews properly, nor did "toner" cause me to think twice.So, all being said. It made her bleached hair pretty white! It just wasn't at all what we were going for.
