Does this actually prevent brake dust buildup like the matte wheel sealant by dr. beasley's? i don't want something that just cleans, but protects.

I use this on my matte mountain bike frame and it just makes the dirt and grime clean off a lot easier. But is very good when it comes to cleaning a matte surface and not giving it a gloss shine.

If I have the gallon would you have to dilute it?

Meticulous Matte detail spray is intended to be used as is. If you dilute it, you could reduce its effectiveness.

Is this product good for a matte black hood? Looking to get some small imperfections out of the hood. If not this product please recommend which one.

I use this to clean my Matte Black motor cycle helmet and it is brilliant, works very well, I have not had any scratches to take off yet, but as far as dust and it works very well. Wish I could help further.

Will it remove hard water spots from the matte vinyl?

Wash the surface with the correct soap for vinyl wrap. Dry immediately out of the sun. Then apply detailer as stated on the container and yes it will work.
