Terror grips a small mountain town as bodies are discovered after each full moon. Losing sleep, raising a teenage daughter and caring for his ailing father, Officer Marshall struggles to remind himself there’s no such thing as werewolves. THE STORY AND THE GENRE The filmmakers behind The Wolf of Snow Hollow celebrate the complex themes at the heart of the film as they look to expand the boundaries of the thriller genre. Review: I really enjoyed my stay at Snow Hollow - This movie wasn't available for digital rental where I live. Its synopsis sounded so intriguing to me, though, that I couldn't help getting it from here. I would do that again! It was exactly what I was looking for and it even had some surprising elements you don't often find in productions like these. First of all, the atmosphere surrounding it was eerie and mesmerizing. Basically, it's set in a small mountain town, Snow Hollow, and most of the scenes take place in the local police department. If you like that sort of things (kind of 'Twin Peaks' mystery setting), you've already got a good 40% chance of loving it. While the movie has indeed hints of comedy here and there that might remind you of the Coen brothers' cinematography, I think the mystery does its job when it comes to the darker part of the story involving the murders (that, for the record, are quite gruesome and do create quite an interesting contrast with the 'brighter' side of the movie). The whole plot has been masterfully developed by Director Jim Cummings. It's one of those movies that need more than just one watch-through to be fully understood and appreciated: you won't probably get all you need to know the first time you'll watch it. Despite some might be left a little bit puzzled by the lack of plain explanations on what's going on the first time, I can assure you all the pieces of this well-crafted puzzle will come into place after a couple of watches. I know it's basically a matter of tastes, but I do love when movies do like that. What it really shines bright in this case, though, it's the characters. They really are the crown jewel of Snow Hollow: they feel so real, they act so naturally (I was pleasantly surprised by the dad-daughter relationship, which is far less predictable than you might expect in this kind of movies). The character played by Cummings (who also happens to be the director and writer of Snow Hollow), is a great addition to the genre, too and effectively depicts a man split between his troubled family and a very stressful job. I also liked the score very much, especially the final track, that summarizes what this movie is about. The DVD quality isn't mesmerizing (maybe because I'm too used to blu-ray quality, by now), but it does its job and I couldn't find the blu-ray version at a reasonable price anywhere, anyway. Hope the movie will get the distribution it deserves. To sup up, I found The wolf of Snow Hollow to be a very pleasant surprise. It's available for digital rental on Prime Video (if I'm not wrong), but I'happy I bought it on DVD as it's one of those movies I'd really like to watch again in the future and truly worthy of a special place in my DVDs collection. Review: great werewolf mock up - its a great film with its tongue in cheek sense of humour but to believe they totally spoiled the end which is totally unbelievable and a bit of a dissapointment when your expecting to see the beast youve previously seen .

Not a bad film, but even 'erewolves' was better than this
It's hard to review this film without spoilers, and the only reason I can give for not watching it is a spoiler, so...uh.....SPOILERS!!! This isn't what it appears to be and that makes it disappointing because I wanted it to be what it appears to be. It appears to be a werewolf movie, so, you know, do the maths..... What makes it worse it that it's a comedy horror that isn't funny and up-to a certain point was much more effective on the horror front. The problem there is that it doesn't deliver on that aspect either. Think 'Brotherhood of the wolf' meets 'Silence of the lambs', but, uh, nowhere near the impact of either of those films. You get brief glimpses of what this appears to be, and those brief glimpses look pretty good. Then the ending deliberately makes things look pretty naff so as to underline that it never was what it appeared to be, even though it looked much more convincing before. This isn't a good werewolf movie, it isn't even an especially worthwhile film when all is said and done. It's reasonably well-acted and well shot, but come the ending it was bitterly disappointing with an unsatisfying twist. It works in "real world terms" as an explanation, don't get me wrong, but only if you can accept a reveal that looks completely different to what was shown before. And that's just cheap movie-making to try and sell the rug-pull. Like having a killer that's seven foot tall with the strength of ten men. Then they reveal it's just a really strong dwarf that goes around killing people whilst wearing a large pair of stilts and aided by bionic arm extensions they built with parts bought from a hardware store. I didn't just spoil the end of this movie, though frankly that would have been a hilarious ending to go with by comparison.

Quirky, odd, but enjoyable genre flick!
Enjoyed this movie quite a bit, it was an interesting take on the Werewolf genre, with some beautiful camera shots and moments of quirky humour! I've read in some reviews that they had a problem with the lead actor but I found him solid and I think his strange, slightly wooden style of acting was done on purpose to emphazize the trauma he was going through.. All in all it's well worth a watch and my only complaints were that it could have been slightly longer and felt a little rushed, but definitely give it a try if you like Werewolf movies or off beat dramas!

Wow!!
I've watched this film three times now, in the last couple of weeks, and it has rapidly become my favourite werewolf movie...ever. Fast paced, funny, with genuine moments of terror. Beautifully shot, with a great ending. Extremely re-watchable.

Awful, don’t bother
I tried but just couldn’t do it. Really bad, Terrible script, all over the place making no sense. Bad acting. The snow is nice, that’s about it. It’s really really bad, could even get half way through.

Película de humor negro con misterio que va tomando forma poco a poco al final fue un agradable entretenimiento. El blu-ray cuenta con subtítulos en español.

This movie had a bit of everything to make it a great entertaining movie. It has a Fargo like quality with a bit of Silence of the Lambs near the end. A bit of horror, drama, dark humor all rolled into one which made for some good entertainment. The Blu-ray quality as usual was crisp and clear.

LA ENTREGA SE HIZO EN TIEMPO Y FORMA NO HUBO NINGUN PROBLEMA, EN CUANTO A LA TRAMA ES MUY MALA CON UN FINAL BASTANTE DECEPCIONANTE. NO LA RECOMIENDO PARA COMPRARLA.
