The power light and the D light on the front isn't working

The power connection is loose. The force of the base will wiggle the power cord over time. Just push it back in, and the light will come back on. You'll notice an increase in base as well.

Does the bp9000 series have a l and r channel version of the speaker? the left having the sub facing right, and the right having the sub facing left?

No...you would think that, and it’s a good ideal, but defintive did not put it that way because subwoofers are mono.

My cat will destroy the grills. Are they removable. If not, any solution for a wild cat?

The grills are not removable. I can see where any speakers would be claw scratching material but I can offer no advice to prevent it from happening. I have a dog that could care less about my Def Tech speakers which, by the way, are great!
