This worked great for us. We have a double gate but because of the lay of our land the gates had to swing the same direction and I don't mind having them both locked to prevent movement on very windy days. We had one side pinned down but the one that we use regularly kept getting off track from the bad winds that we get so I love the option of having it locked down so that doesn't happen any longer. I wish I would have done it 5 years ago when I put the fence and the gate in.

I used these to secure my shed doors when they are opened. They are very heavy and I live in what appears to be a constant wind tunnel. Tired of using cinder blocks to hold them opened. The posts have a double groove on them which didn’t work for my application so I ground the lower one off from each post. They ground off very easily using a demmel and a sanding wheel. I guess cheap soft Chinese steel is good sometimes. I used the extra bracket to make holders for the posts when the doors are shut.

Attaches easy. Good for light weight gate. I used on a heavier gate and had to intsall a pipe in the ground for inserting for strength.

Working great on a man door in a building for extra security, had to use better screws then what came with it for what I used it for, the door couldn't be kicked in like it had been before.

I haven't installed this yet. I purchased along with weld on hinges for a swing gate I'm building. It's a well built drop bolt that will work perfectly with my design.
