Superior Quality
I recently tried another brand which touts its ‘pigment’ ink and was just a little less expensive. Although the other brand is reputable, the ink just didn’t measure up. Side by side Sakura beat them, hands down. Some of the things I really like about these pens are: They are fade resistant, vibrant, won’t smudge or rub off once it’s dry (I don’t have to worry about my hand turning black when I’m reworking a project), smooth and a consistent flow. They have never, ever, disappointed me. So worth the extra few cents.

works well with watercolors
Great for urban sketching. The ink flow is steady and lasts. Great value for the money and doesn't run when watercolor is added. In fact, it works really well with watercolor.

Love them!
Love these!! I had to get these for an art class and had a great time learning how to use them and when to use each one. The quality is great and I expect them to last a long time. They also don’t smear which is a huge plus! Overall great markers that I continue to use outside of school!

Great variety for journaling
This is a great option if you want multiple tip sizes. I use them for journaling the black is a rich color and it doesn’t fade.

Package-Accurate; Good Price for Tip-Variety
I am currently using these pens to put artwork onto tracing paper for transfer to a wood burning (pyrography) project. It involves a good deal of cross-hatching, combined with large areas of black, and I found I was going through my Sakura pens faster than normal. However, I use these pens all the time and they are consistently excellent. For all the reasons that others have stated. And, indeed, for the very reasons that Sakura touts in their own marketing. Here are my personal reasons for loving the Sakura Pigma Micron pens. -Top-Top, Number ONE Reason: They don't bleed (as in, when you make a line, it doesn't sprout "fur" around its edges!) CLOSE SECOND: The density of pigment (for black, and Sakura's black is BLACK!!). People who do not draw very much in ink may not understand this, but if you're creating a solid black area it's so much easier to see spots of overlap if the pigment is not dense enough. Sakura's pigment density is awesome. I rarely have to go over dark areas again to get it all to look the same color-density. -The price-point for their product is very acceptable: Not the cheapest pens on the market by a long shot. But, despite their stupendous popularity, Sakura has kept the price of their pens at a reasonable range. -Permanent & Archive Quality: Permanent... I usually work in colored pencil, drawing/sketching in pencil first, then going over pencil lines with in and color after. I can fearlessly erase stray pencil marks without the ink being marred. Yes, you can smear it if it's not dry, and the ink does not dry instantly, but it dries very fast. And once it's dry, no worries. Archive Quality... this one's pretty simple to understand for anyone interested in creating something that will last. There's a lot I could say, but I'll keep it simple; these are really excellent pens! They have any tip size or almost any style you can imagine. I have used them for all my creative life from early HS onward and tried MANY other pens. But I always come back to Sakura. Stop dithering and buy them already!

Good quality, but expensive
Been worrying about the quality, since a couple of reviewers said the ink dried every so often, but mine turned out okay! Maybe I’m lucky? As much as I like the pens, they are expensive, especially for a poor student like me. Regretted for my purchase but I won’t return them.

Very good overall
Got these after.reading multiple reviews. Was specifically looking for pens that could be used with watercolour. I'm left handed and do find that on smooth watercolour paper, the ink smudges if I'm not careful and don't wait for it to dry. Once dry though, I'm very happy with the deep black and they seem to be colourfast when adding watercolour.
