My covering material is a soft microfiber type and is wearing well even after heavy use for over a year. The form itself is stiff. I use it with my office chair and also with a Mission Morris type chair that sits too far back for me. I don't use it with my LazyBoy recliner as it is very comfortable as is. However, I did try it with my Lazy Boy and it worked well when I was sitting up, but when I reclined, it left my head with no support.
