It comes in a cardboard box. I use a regular plastic soap container for travel 

About how long does this last (using as regular shampoo)?

I shampoo my shoulder length hair every day, using only five swipes of the soap on my scalp ( it lathers well). A regular sized bar will last me two months. A big help is leaving the bar out where it will dry between uses. Best practice is to but 2 bars and leave the second one out and unwrapped to "cure." These soaps arrive virtually uncured so they don't last nearly as long.

Monica, this bar shampoo lathers well and will last for quite a while, but how long depends if you shampoo daily and how thick your hair is. Give it a try, I alternate it with a regular shampoo. You may also try a conditioner, overall it is a gentle product that your hair will like.

I see other charcoal bars as a face wash, can this be used as both? What is the differne?

You can use it on your face. We have charcoal soap which will be available in a few weeks which costs less. BTW we are running a sale on our body soaps (not the shampoos). 40% OFF when you buy four or more.
