The diagnostic ability is with the user in most case. HOWEVER after saying that one does have to ask if your using it for any special medical purpose other than to listen to breath sounds, basic heart sounds, inter abdominal functioning, blood pressure. Just as there are some special things you would want a stethoscope to have if are a cardiologist and need a stethoscope to give you better sounds and picking up high and low frequencies, or if working with pregnant women and need one that is more sensitive for inter- abdominal listening there are some specialty needs that vet processes have of some that are made a bit differently. I was researching reviews to decide which one to get my daughter finishing her CNA and starting nursing school . Kept seeing everyone say this is a good one to start with and good quality. The main thing I got this one for is someone said it was a lot lighter and when you wear it around your neck all day for 10 and 12 hours on shift, etc., do you want a lighter one around your neck. If she wants to go to a more expensive, Litman, she can do that later. Meanwhile, we’ll see if she even likes school and she can try to wear this one out.😅. I had ordered her some charms to put around it to personalize it and help keep it unique from others, however, the tubing is little bit thick for the generic charms I bought for it so I don’t know if they’ll fit or not. I don’t know how much the little plastic clamps on them stretch. But you can definitely get a customized one with their name on it and it would go around any size.
