Great stuff
A staple in our home, great taste and consistent quality. I wish they would go back to the old label, the new material is just too slick.

A Breakfast Experience That Builds Character
Ah, McCann’s Irish Traditional Steel Cut Oatmeal—the breakfast of champions, philosophers, and those with an abundance of free time. In a world filled with instant gratification and oatmeal that’s ready in 90 seconds, McCann’s boldly challenges you to earn your breakfast, one painstakingly long-simmered bite at a time. From the moment you open the tin, you know you’re in for something special. These oats are not for the faint of heart. No, they require patience, fortitude, and perhaps a minor existential crisis while you watch them cook for 30 to 40 minutes. By the time they’re ready, you’ll have completed a full morning’s worth of soul-searching, planned your entire week, and questioned all your life choices. But the payoff? Oh, the payoff! McCann’s doesn’t just nourish your body—it forges your spirit. Each spoonful is a textural masterpiece, the chewy steel-cut oats offering the kind of resistance you just don’t get with those spineless, mushy rolled oats. The flavor is pure, earthy, and unapologetically oaty, making you feel as if you’ve been transported to the rolling green hills of Ireland, where a hearty breakfast is the only thing standing between you and the elements. And let’s talk about versatility! Add honey, nuts, fruit, or even a splash of whiskey if you’re truly embracing your inner Irish poet. However you dress it up, McCann’s delivers a breakfast experience that is as much a lesson in patience as it is in nourishment. So, if you’re looking for a bowl of oats that will toughen you up, make you appreciate the passage of time, and remind you that good things come to those who wait—McCann’s is for you. And if you’re in a rush? Well…there’s always instant oatmeal, but where’s the dignity in that?

Great oatmeal Poor shipping packing
The oatmeal is great & fresh. Loses a star because packaged without enough padding and crushed the biscuits in the same package. Oatmeal lost lid in box.

Healthy breakfast of oats
Very good flavor, takes a very long time to cook. Try 4 to 1 mix with water and milk. Makes alot. Pre soak overnight to soften otherwise over 30min at least.

Schnell zu verarbeiten, schmeckt gut: Does exactly what it says on the tin. Immer wieder gerne.

e' esattamente ciò che mi aspettavo fosse, non troppo veloce la cottura però, richiede più tempo di quanto si poteva immaginare ma va bene così.

I love this oatmeal. I grew up in New York City, and this was something you'd find in specialty shops there. It's much different from rolled oats, because it takes a lot longer to cook (not the 5 minutes it says on the can), and it doesn't get as mushy as standard rolled out flakes. It's flavorful and delicious, and I love cooking this up for a hot breakfast on a cold morning.

Mccann steel cut good texture, flavour. Preferred by daughter. Longest prep time, not for rushed mornings. 4:1 ratio, so good value. but after 30min, not that creamy yet. Unable ṭo compare with BRM steel cut, as it was finished a week ago. BRM scottish oats nice texture, flavour. Easy to prep, sits between steel cut n rolled oats. 3:1 ratio Mccann rolled oats smooth texture, unusual but mild flavour compared to the others. Can't pinpoint the taste. 2:1, but can probably increase to 2.5:1 Flahavan rolled oats very neutral n very mild flavour, can do with higher ratio of water to oats. Good for intro to oats. 2:1, but can probably increase to 2.5:1 Did not taste against quakers. In conclusion, for rolled or scottish, prefer BRM Scottish for flavour, texture, same ease of prep, mildly cheaper. For steel cut, then the Mccann or ?BRM. Yr results may vary
