We live at 5,000' above sea level and we're pretty sure this is the reason. They appear to leak faster when taken up and down from our altitude. Looking for another pen of the same quality that can handle the slight change in pressure. I tested on Strathmore Cold Press 140 lb paper with a wait time of 5 minutes between inking the sample and painting. I had no bleeding at all even with two heavy wet coats of paint. I LOVE all the sizes. And I love you can get a Big container of them. Highly recommend. The pens last a long time. Once dry these are smudge resistant. I use alcohol inks with them and have to be a little carful of smudging with these pens, but other wise you can erase pencil marks love the ink and they wont smudge.
