Olympus V501024BU000 Binocular 8-16x40 S - Ideal for Nature Observation, Wildlife, Birdwatching, Sports, Concerts, Black

I got these for mainly bird watching and so far I have not been disappointed. They feel solid, not lightweight and with good adjustments. Using them at min magnification you are able to pin point your bird etc and then zoom in using the lever on near the right lens. They are easy to setup, and can be adjusted for your vision on each eyecup. The central focusing ring is firm but not overly firm to move, this minimises accidentally knocking them out of focus. The case they come with is soft but protective, but I would not recommend dropping it on a hard surface as it is a bit light weight for that kind of protection. Going back to the box they arrive in, I like and matches other Olympus / OM boxes, premium looking. The binoculars come with caps to protect each lens, a strap which you need to fit, straps are not padded though. They are not lightweight. Vision through them is good, with good clarity. I’ve been using for a month now and I’m very impressed by them as good intermediate level binoculars for bird watching or other wildlife at a decent price. Not really used them in late evening / dusk yet, but have used in drizzle and they performed well. The lever for magnification from 8-16 is easy to use when out and about. Overall if looking for a premium intermediate binoculars, personally recommend consider these on your list to try. I have a couple of Olympus items now and I have found them so far to be well made and reliable in a variety of weather conditions, especially for British climate.

Amazing for the price - I bought 'second hand' from Amazon Warehouse which I heartily recommend - this item is 'new' in every respect but the box. I have bought several Amazon Warehouse products over the years and never been disappointed. These are solid 'full size' binoculars and quite heavy, so perhaps not for everyone, but I love the 8-16 zoom facility rather than having a fixed zoom. The image is crisp and sharp at any zoom level. The purists suggest that a variable zoom compromises quality but in my view these are ideal for animal spotting; start with the lower zoom and simply go closer by adjusting the zoom lever. Overall these feel very high-quality with smooth focus wheel and zoom lever.

Great value for money,nice crisp image and zoom function is super except for the zoom flap being way too flimsy, could easily break.Binoculars came in bashed box, thankfully wasn't a gift.

Kudos to Olympus for bringing these standout zooming performers at a very reasonable price. They have impressive zoom and clear optics that compete with anything in this price point. If I was to criticise something it would be the lens caps. I bought some new ones that stay on rather than losing the ones it comes with. Now I am 100% happy and comfortable with these. I love my Olympus zoomable porros

I've wanted some binoculars for quite some time but as its not for a dedicated purpose I never got around to it but After finding myself away in southern Ireland and being the only member of the group without a pair it pushed me over the edge to finally commit. Never knew there were so many differing specifications for binocular so was very wary about what to order and had to reply on friends suggestions and reviews. I was after some decent magnification, sturdy and not too big and these certainly ticked off those requirements. I'm sure you can get far better quality and specs (would have liked a pair with IS but could not justify the cost) but for what I will be using them for they hit the mark and I'm very happy.

Superb optics, bright clear and great definition. The zoom feature is excellent really helpful for bird watching from the wide angle to spot and watch to the higher magnification to aid identification. Easy to hold and use just a little bit heavier than I had anticipated.

I had this before and I gifted this to someone so I bought it again Quality is good Durable Nothing to complain at all. Came with a casing and instructions.

Schönes , gut verarbeitetes Fernglas. Die Schärfe und Helligkeit sind echt gut. Einziges Manko sind die mitgelieferten Trageriemen , die sehr dünn und viel zu kurz sind. Ansonsten bin ich sehr zufrieden. Nutze es beim Bogenschiessen.
