At first I thought we'd received the wrong part. But we received the CORRECT part. I realized that when my wife's car collided with a tire (no wheel, just a lone tire) that rolled at her on the freeway, the impact knocked the emblem itself loose and sent it on a journey, but the back of the emblem assembly was still on the car. It appears that the proper way to remove the old and then install the new assy would be to remove the bumper assembly or at least some pieces around the radiator. There is a small screw that is used on each side of the back of emblem oval assembly to help secure everything in place. I semi-carefully broke off the old back black oval, was able (with a few naughty words) to get the screws undone, and then could install the new emblem assy. In order to avoid removing the bumper (I've done that multiple times on Toyotas, and was not keen to take that time), I have used Gorilla Glue on all of the clip points and have the emblem assy now secured in place to let the glue cure. If this does not hold, then I will need to get another emblem assy and do things properly. Honestly, I typically DO do things properly (really ...no, REALLY! :) ...but there's too much else going on at the moment. Regardless, the new emblem assembly looks great, and is a perfect fit. I'll post a pic of the installed emblem in a day or so after the glue has dried (assuming it stays in place!) ...09Nov2023: I've attached a pic showing the emblem in place. It is PERFECT!
