This is an excellent board for commuter drawing, etc. My only reservation concerns the very young & seniors. I bought it for a senior artist who likes to draw in his lap & during commutes. I do wish the board was sturdier (thicker) & that the clips were not so tight. I think he will eventually break the board by accident, & meanwhile, he cannot manage the clips, so he has ripped several pictures. As long as I am there to help him, it is ok. Otherwisew, for the average person, I think these are very handy & am excellent size & price. ps(the actual color is "manilla", & I like that better than the advertised brown).

Great quality. The board is sturdy and smooth. It's more than strong enough for sketching/painting work. It's really light weight since it is made of recycled cardboard which makes it easy to transport. The clips are a good strength so a piece of cardboard between your paper and the clip is a good idea to prevent any dents. I bought this to hold my coloring books in other places than at my desk. Works great if you want to color in front of the TV, etc. I think it is good quality for the price, most cheaper boards are too flimsy and too small.

I love this art board! Perfect for mobile sketching/drawing. I’ve searched for the specific artboard Type that I had in art school. But, they’re nearly impossible to locate. THAT type of heavy duty, THICK wood board is from a past era, I assume. Used ones are typically to scarred or grooved to use. (Or you would have to pay an exorbitant amount of $$.) However, this “recycled” art board is very close. Although it is thinner than I’d typically prefer, it does have some give in the middle due to it’s larger size. But, no complaints, I’m very satisfied with all of it! Some of my previous exp with “recycled” opt’s has not been good. Yet, this board is NOT like those. These clips are strong, yet not TOO strong. The rubber banding is of good, thick quality. The hand hold location is just right, etc. The price for this size was too good to pass up. I had not used this large a size before. But, it is actually perfect for how I layout my all my drawing ref materials: images, life model pictures, etc. I’m able to place so much on this board, I don’t know why I hadn’t thought of it before. Right now I have (2) 11”x17” acrylic paper pads, (4) anatomy pictures, & (2) 8 1/2”x11” gestural drawings. That makes this portable art desk my favorite piece of equipment in a long time. Well worth buying.

I hadn't done any artwork for close to 20 years so needed all new art supplies. First thing first is a good drawing board and this one did not disappoint. Highly recommend.

Bought this for my art classes and it's a savior for when you want to bring your work on the go. I essentially use this for drawing, collaging, and anything I need grounding for. Especially helpful since I can use this and not destroy my work desk when using materials.
