Son loves Roblox and coding so this book is great

My son was over the moon to get this and immediately started reading and coding. After 1 week he has a multi level game (simple jumper) that he is very happy with. This has motivated him to keep reading and coding.

Bought for my son as he is a massive fan. Looked at it once. Now sitting gathering dust!

Unfortunately after we got to Chapter 2, the code doesn't work anymore. We followed the instructions and typed up the code and played around with stuff ie objects, properties etc. but the code simply doesn't work anymore. The book is probably needing an update or it should be indicated where to find the updated code in the book description on the amazon product page. So, we returned the book, as it bogs you down with non-functioning code.

Si no tienes cierta experiencia de programación, olvídate de lo de 24 horas. Da por supuesto ciertos conocimientos de programación con Lua, no explica suficientemente bien lo que se está programando, y al final, muchas veces lo único que haces es copiar el ejemplo y ver que funciona, pero con muchas dudas del por qué de las cosas. Si tienes cierta experiencia con Lua, viene bien para repasar ciertos detalles y aprender algunos trucos.

I am informed this book might be off. Can anybody confirm it is compatible with ROBLOX 2023?

Given as a gift. They wanted to learn about coding and how it works. They found it very helpful and was able to understand it

Very nice book

While this guide covers the basic building blocks of Roblox Lua, it feels a bit shallow for anyone looking to truly master game development. The fundamentals it provides are solid, but honestly, you could find the same information for free in YouTube tutorials. There are a few projects included, but they aren't enough to bridge the gap to actual proficiency. The book would be much more effective if it were part of a progressive series; one book just isn't enough to cover the complexities of Roblox scripting. I'd recommend it only for absolute beginners who prefer a physical book over online videos.
