The pots are 3 and 1/2 inches in diameter measured across the bottom.

Can these go outside on an open air deck?

Yes they can go outside in the open air. They are very hearty and beautiful. I don't have them outside, so not sure if they would fade over time, but I have one in a window that has been in the sun for 2 years and has not faded.

what color are the pots?

They are a medium gray with white. Love the pots. Replaced the plants for something taller.
