The gliding and rotating is nice and smooth. Nice soft fabric. The back is a little plump but I think it just needs "broken in". I really like this chair so far. I've never found the lumbar support to be inadequate though I could see how some might. I'm 5'9", size 12 and fit well. Husband does also and he's a bit bigger than I am. No regrets here! Great for the price!UPDATE: I've now had this chair for over 3 years and it's holding up remarkably well to regular use. Cushions are still firm and the fabric looks great!
