It is great for his house as he has two very tall steps up to the porch. When my daughter and her husband moved back here a couple of months ago and bought a house, they had a problem with having stairs on all three entrances t their new home. So I bought a 10 foot ramp and with their two short steps on the side entry he can move his walker easily up and down this ramp. The incline is less that he has at home and I am thinking of extending the one on our house to make the incline less also. I needed a ramp for visitors to my mid-century modern house/office and dreaded the possibility of some functional monstrosity conflicting with the lines of my home. I don't think I could have found anything better than this industrial-chic ramp. I also priced them around town (Dallas) and would have had to pay almost twice as much as Amazon's $574. Then I dropped the handrails off at the local powder coating plant and for an extra $150 had them spruced up. It has a non slip (ribbed) surface though I will probably add a non slip mat the full length because when the sun hits it at the right angle, it will just about blind you. The ramp has a lip on the lower end that adapts to the landing and the top of the ramp has a fixed lip that junctions with the entrance doorway.
