I did not find it difficult to set but getting it 'tuned' to me was a bit more challenging and at first i thought the stride difference didn't matter. I know have it set at 18 and on first test seems accurate enough. Before it always seem to add five steps each time no matter what my stride count was set to. I selected this unit because i don't need to add another cord to loop on my belt and thin enough that i can simply carry in my pocket. The added addition is the clock - assuming at some point i may no longer count steps , i would still have the benefit of having the right time on me. Not sure how accurate this unit would be on a purse but one of the reasons i decided white wasn't a bad way to go - color wise would go with any purse, jeans worn, etc. Review: Works pretty good - Works pretty good.
