Other than just looking better these have a couple of "hooks" on one side top/bottom that hold the plate in instead of just mounting directly over the top of a plate. Also included are pads to put behind the plate. I didn't have any problems with plate rattle before installing these but it's a nice touch. Also many different types of screws to hopefully satisfy any installation. Unfortunately I couldn't use the theft proof screws but this also has caps to cover the screws you do choose. This came with four of those but my front plate used four screws, presumably to keep it firmly in place at very high speeds.
