I researched, compared features, price, reviews, etc, etc for several months and I am so pleased with this purchase, as is my girl.We have a pond in a park across the street from our house. It has big lilypads in a few corners, some near the surface underwater algae, and I was concerned about a boat getting "hung up".This thing is awesome, especially for the price.It's super-speedy, cuts corners and makes turns at an almost 180 degree angle just like that *snaps fingers*.My kid is one to push limits....went all over the lilypads, algae did get hung on the rudder blades...but she backed it up, kept on going. It was even powerful enough to keep zipping along, dragging a lilypad behind it until I made her stop.The alarm feature is perfect for us, because if it got stuck out in our pond, that'd be it. No more boat because I won't get in to fetch it.We bought the orange color, for more visibility.My girl used it full throttle on a fully charged battery and it lasted about 13 minutes before the alarm beeped the first time. It says a full charge takes 90 minutes, but it was less than that for us. When she eased up on the throttle after charging, we got approximately 17 minutes time before the alarm beeped.She never capsized, but came close so I can't comment about the uprght turning feature at this time.I ordered back-up batteries to get more play time, and I encourage others to do the same.The box with boat in it was packaged inside another box with air cushion bags to prevent movement during transit. It was secured perfectly.I wanted two boats to "race", but after reading reviews two of these wouldn't work. ..so I'm on the hunt, again.Stay tuned for for results of I purchase on Amazon. ;) ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great value in a beginner level RC boat *by M***T on July 10, 2016* Great boat. I picked up a cheapo fireboat on a whim and was completely unsatisfied. Junk. Worked OK after I got inside and rewired the motor controls. I was not impressed.Being a long time RC pilot, I realized there must be a notch up from junk on the order of some halfway serious entry level RC boatage, somewhere. This is that boat. a well engineered interior with normal hobby grade parts including a real servo for the rudder. Nicely done interior setup right down to the battery holder. Boat hull is very tough and access is one hatch dog with a nice gasket. The water cooling for the engine actually works ok!I bought two and we were immediately racing on the pool, which I can tell is the limiting factor...when you open it up it gets on step and wants to MOVE. Would probably be a blast in a lake.I'm giving it 4 stars because it was a teensy bit of a work in progress when I got it. I had to move the servo arm to a new center position and move the z bend on the rudder pushrod to a new hole. No biggie, but it wouldn't trim for straight without it. Also, no matter what I do both boats turn right way harder than they turn left, which is annoying. I set up everything with as much throw and symmetry as possible, yet left turns are leisurely affairs while right turns are sheet of water spraying, deck rail in the water, carved affairs.Also, the boat does take on some water as you go, so there is that. I'll work on finding out why.The transmitter warns you when the battery is getting low, so that's nice.All in all a totally different experience than that first piece of junk, and for only 8 bucks more. We're really enjoying racing these and the bind and go has worked great, so no channel worries. In fact, the reason I'm here to write this is...I just ordered a third one and another pair of batteries! My son says he loves it ...hitting high speed can make it hard to make the turns in the pool! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing Boat! I’ve been an R/C enthusiast for the ... *by T***S on April 4, 2016* Amazing Boat! I’ve been an R/C enthusiast for the better part of 40 yrs and have to say this is the best, most fun R/C boat I have ran across. The boat is very fast, extremely durable and responsive. Great control range as well, I’m running the boats on a 3.5 acre lake and have full control across the entire lake. The boat is approx. 12 inches in length, water cooling intake port on bottom, power on/off sensor on the bottom, flip sensor on the top, USB charged battery. I purchased two of these boats for some afternoon fun with friends, I was not disappointed, these boats are a blast! If you’re into the bump & grind, side by side racing, these quick little boats can be very exciting. We’ve done about everything you could do to a R/C boat… Side swiping each other rolling boats over the top of one another, (I can assure you the self-righting feature works great!) accidentally catching a rogue waves near shore launching the boat into surrounding bushes, running them into kayaks & docks, and often crashing them into one another or other R/C boats. Regardless of what we have put these boats through they continue to work flawlessly with no damage. I ordered two boats the first go around, I’m back to order an additional two boats and spare batteries. Extend the fun, BUY SPARE batteries! The charge last approx. 20 minutes. When the low battery alarm begins to sound I have been getting an additional 3-5 minutes of use until it begins to slow then it has to be brought to shore. My only caution would be watch the motor/battery temperature. The motor has a liquid cooling system that picks up water on the bottom rear and exits it out to the side. Keep an eye on the water inlet port so that is stays clear of debris so water can flow through the system.
