I have been using the old Keto-Mojo Ketone/Glucose meter off and on for almost 3 years. I was super excited with the release of the new Meter – the GK+ — and felt it was a much better choice for my lifestyle. I love the individually wrapped strips. The meter was super easy to set up and get connected to the Keto-Mojo app. I was diagnosed as Pre-diabetic 3 1/2 years ago. I decided to try the Ketogenic diet to see if this would help. Testing both my Ketones and Glucose on a regular basis would be important to help me on my journey but after doing research, I found that testing Ketones was very expensive. Testing ketones back then could be $2-$5 per test! I did not think I could afford to test at that time. Soon after I heard about the Keto-Mojo meter. Both Diet Doctor and Thomas DeLauer recommended the Keto-Mojo meter. I loved being able to know how foods were affecting me quickly. I was able to get my high blood sugar under control within 2 months of being on the Keto Diet. Since that time, I test when I want to introduce new foods to my diet. The Keto-Mojo meter is the best tool I have found to know what my levels are for both Ketones and Glucose.Plus being able to track my progress on the app lets me also give my Doctor my readings quick and easy. With the previous Keto-Mojo Meter, the downside was that the strips were sold in a vial of 50 which may be more than I might use before they expire in 6 months. This can get expensive. The new meter has individually wrapped strips. This is fantastic. With the older Meter, when I first learned to test, I did receive errors and was very frustrated. I considered returning the product, but I really wanted to try out the Keto-Mojo meter. I reached out to Customer Support by going to their company website. Amazon cannot help you with the meter. Keto-Mojo’s customer support helped me walk through the testing process and I was able to test without errors. Yes, being new to testing there was a learning curve with being able to get enough blood. I purchased the new GK+ meter as soon as it was released. Right from the start I knew I loved this meter. Here are some great changes: • Individually wrapped strips at a lower price!! • NO CODE KEY needed!!! -this is so great. (Yes, I threw mine away once- Thank you Customer Support for your assistance with this) •New carrying case- The new case holds all my supplies. I would call it a soft sided hard case. • Control Solution- This was not included in the older model. Thank you very much Keto-Mojo for including both ketone and glucose control solution. This gives me peace of mind that I know the meter is in range when I start testing. • Easy Set up- Make sure and pull the tab that is on the batteries. It says, “Pull Here.” Read the Manual it is easy to follow along. But you can also find the set up on the company website in the help section. • No little button on the back to push. • Sealed Lancing Device and enough lancets for all the strips inside the starter kit. • The Keto-Mojo app is amazing, the connection to the app was simple and easy. I love this company because they are small company that really cares, and they are all about information. So far, testing with the GK+ meter has been a breeze. They have a great start up story, and they listened to requests for lower prices and new features on the app. Being a business owner myself I understand making these changes is not something that can happen overnight. The website is the real deal for me. There is no other one stop shop for learning everything (and I mean everything!) about the keto lifestyle – I’m hooked on the recipes and find myself anxiously awaiting new posts. I feel if you are looking for a Blood Glucose and Ketone meter this is the best choice. Thanks Keto-Mojo!

EDIT: I have changed my review from 2 stars to 4, not because much has changed with my experience so far with the device, but because I have found keto-mojo's customer support to be excellent and they seem to be willing to stand behind their product and work with me to figure out the issues I'm having. ----- original review below ----- I have followed the instructions to a T as best as I can tell, and I'm quite disappointed by the accuracy of this device. (In terms of following the instructions, I have measured the accuracy of the device using the number printed on the box and the fluid provided, I have thoroughly washed my hands before testing, I have wiped away the first droplet of blood, etc.) Why do I say it isn't particularly accurate? A couple of weeks ago I needed to get some fasting lab bloodwork done. I took my keto-mojo device with me and as soon as soon as the lab was done taking their sample, I used my device to measure my glucose myself. The first glucose reading it gave me was 125. The second one it gave me was 105. That's a BIG difference if you are carefully watching your glucose levels. Finally, when the proper lab results came back, they stated my glucose was 101. I would consider the device's second reading of 105 and the lab's results of 101 to be an acceptable level of accuracy; but the fact the first reading was 125 has sadly reduced my level of confidence in the device. I am not giving the device a 1 star review because, anecdotally, I can say the device tends to provide results within an expected range. For example, after several days of very disciplined keto nutrition it does indeed say that my ketosis number is going up, and conversely if I have a day where I consume a substantial amount of carbs, the next day the device will indeed say that I'm in a low level of ketosis, or completely out of it. I have not had any issues with easy-of-use. I think some minor improvements could be made in terms of the intuitiveness of the buttons (also, I found the machine turned on by itself several times when it was in my backpack -I could hear it beep- even though it was inside the protective case, when it was pressed by other items in the backpack), but overall it is fairly user-friendly. The bluetooth functionality has worked perfectly and easily to sync with my phone.

This device is very easy to use. I highly recommend if you are starting a keto life style. It is both reassuring and motivating to be able to know for sure you are in ketosis. It helps get you through the unpleasant adjustment period when strictly limiting carbs. Its also a good tool to determine which foods you can enjoy while still staying in ketosis. The finger prick really isn't that bad at all and is totally worth it. I actually look forward to testing. The app is great and charts your results over time. There are also educational videos you can watch about how to use the device as well as about the keto lifestyle. Buy additional testing strips when you buy this because what this kit comes with wont last long. They are a little pricey but totally worth it. I know this device is helping me keep to a new way of eating and I couldn't be happier about it.

Uno strumento concepito male, complicato inutilmente, frustrante da usare Ho acquistato questo dispositivo con grande aspettativa, spinta dalle tante recensioni entusiaste e dalla promessa di poter monitorare in modo semplice sia la glicemia che i chetoni. Purtroppo, la mia esperienza è stata profondamente negativa; si tratta di uno degli acquisti peggiori che abbia mai fatto. Il problema non è solo la complessità tecnica (che pure è alta), ma il fatto che nulla nel dispositivo corrisponde a quanto indicato nelle istruzioni: I passaggi non funzionano come descritto, Il dispositivo non si comporta come mostrato nei video ufficiali, I messaggi sullo schermo sono ambigui o fuorvianti, L’interfaccia è poco intuitiva, con logiche che sembrano fatte per scoraggiare l’utente, non per guidarlo. Mi ritengo una persona intelligente, determinata e abituata a imparare cose nuove — ma qui siamo ben oltre la soglia del ragionevole. Impostarlo è un percorso a ostacoli. Non si tratta solo di “smanettare un po’”: è proprio un sistema progettato male, con un’assistenza video completamente scollegata dal comportamento reale del dispositivo. Inoltre, tutto questo stress arriva prima ancora di poter fare una singola misurazione. Non ho nemmeno avuto modo di valutare se i valori fossero attendibili, perché non sono riuscita ad avviarlo correttamente, e non per mancanza di volontà. Per fortuna ho potuto restituirlo. Ma mi chiedo come sia possibile che nessuna delle centinaia di recensioni positive parli con chiarezza di questi problemi. Sembra che il pubblico target di questo strumento sia costituito solo da utenti avanzati, pazienti e tecnicamente competenti. Per chi cerca un’esperienza affidabile, accessibile e immediata — soprattutto se deve monitorarsi ogni giorno — questo strumento è una trappola.

The device randomly shuts down mid test, meaning sometimes the test has to be redone. Even with new batteries it is the same, sorry, but it's junk.
