The hydrogel holds it’s form as well as the claim that it absorbs 400x its weight in water. I live in an arid place where gardening water-hungry plants is a challenge. I’m on day six after planting and on day two of watering. The granules are a little smaller than some brands I have bought in the past, but they pack a punch. Less than a 1/4 cup in ~3 gallons of water is ready to go in about an hour.UPDATE: This has become my go-to brand for hydrogel now for the last two years. With other brands I’ve used in the past, two years is about how long the crystals last inside the soil, but these don’t seem to break down so easily. I was stunned when I dug into my garden soil after a hard rain and they are still there! This is especially good because now I know they’re not leaving a residue in my soil. We’ll see how things go this year. I bought a new house and am scaling up my gardening ambitions.
